Happy holidays, Pembroke Pines! Are you ready for your roundup of weekday fun?
This Monday through Thursday, the city’s got lots to make your work week merry and bright, including a one-time Guinness World Record-winning Christmas display, a storytime with Santa Claus, holiday card crafts and a seasonal open house.
Here’s a list of Pembroke Pines weekday events to add to your schedule.
Christmas at the Oasis Drive-Thru
Oasis Church — located at 12201 SW 14th St. — presents its one-time Guinness World Record-winning Christmas display now through Dec. 25 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Families can enjoy this glowing winter wonderland from the comfort of their cars through its drive-thru experience Monday through Thursday. For festive fare, photo opprtunities, karaoke, a kids fun zone and more, visit Friday through Sunday. Admission is free, but tickets for food and rides are sold in bundles ranging from $20 to $80.

Broward County Public Schools Showcase
If you’re shopping for where to enroll your kid next year, visit this district-run showcase featuring over 200 schools across Broward County Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m at the Amerant Bank Arena. Representatives from each institution and for specialized programs such as the Gifted Academy, magnet schools and dual enrollement will be in attendance to answer questions. Technical support will also be on-site for those who need help submitting a school choice application. Admission is free and open to the public.

Holiday Chill Ride
All Pembroke Pines Jeep owners and enthusiasts are invited to dress up their ride at Hooters’ monthly theme night for prizes this Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. The Pembroke Pines restaurant — located at 7990 Pines Blvd. — is also hosting a toy drive that will benefit Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and award participants a buy six, get six wings voucher for any South Florida Hooters. Other perks include 15% off food and beverages and raffle entries if presenting a Jeep key, as well as meet-and-greets with the franchise’s calendar covergirl, Selena Sanchez. Admission is free and open to the public.

PembrokeKIDS: Barnes & Noble’s Storytime with Santa
Santa Claus makes a special, storybook appearance Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pembroke Gardens’ Barnes and Noble. Enjoy several festive readings of holiday tales, complimentary milk and cookies, and a book signing by the famous North Pole resident. Need a last-minute picture for your holiday card? Santa will stick around for photo opportunities after the reading.

Taco ‘Bout a Run: Pines Running Co.
Who says tacos are only for Tuesdays? Pines Running Co. will be chowing down Wednesday at 7 p.m. after a midweek, 2-mile trot starting at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, located 601 SW 145th Terrace. All runners can also enjoy a 20% discount from the eatery. Admission is free and open to the public.

Holiday Greeting Cards: Art of Gary Gore
Kids ages 8 to 12 are welcome to unleash their inner artist at multimedia creative Gary Gore’s workshop series from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The December edition, hosted at Village Community Center, features a holiday greeting card craft led by the Studio18 gallery resident who doubles as a musician and DJ. Admission ranges from $10-15 and is open to the public.

Mingle Run
Searching for a soulmate? You might find them at Sprint Society’s “mingle run” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The wellness social club starts the 1- to 3-mile run at 10280 Pines Blvd., welcomes runners of all paces and will offer games, activities and food as part of its post-run hangout. If you’re looking for love, Sprint Society says to wear all black. In a relationship or just want to get your miles in? Wear any other color. Admission is free with registration.

Holiday Open House
The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center opens its doors to guests of all ages Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. for its annual Holiday Open House. On the events itinerary are live performances, festive fare such as hot cocoa and cookies, party favors and a holiday show featuring dancers and magician. Several holiday photo opportunities — themed trees, a winter village scene, menorahs and nativity scenes — and picture opportunities with Santa will be available. Admission is free and open to the public.
