A holiday-filled weekend is coming your way, Pembroke Pines, and with it, an event-packed schedule to celebrate.

Bookending this Friday through Sunday are Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, and Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21.

To ring in both, the southwest Broward city’s got several fests, workshops and classes that will make it a holiday for the books.

Also slated are ways to decompress, channel your inner creative and sweat it out in between all the celebrations.

Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery, two years after the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, alongside city officials at this Pembroke Pines festival from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Headlining the event are live music performances, arts and crafts, guest speakers, soul food and “America’s Story Through the Eyes of Its People,” a traveling educational exhibition by the Sanofka Museum. Admission is free and open to all ages.

Rise and Run

Lace up your sneakers for an early sweat session Saturday at this Pines Running Co.’s trot. Runners will meet at Haraz Coffee House at 7 a.m. before taking off on a 1-to-5-mile run. Post-workout, participants can enjoy special offers and discounts at the café, as well as socialize with fellow fitness lovers. The event is free with registration.

My Hero & Me Father’s Day Event

Treat dad to a sweet moment at My Gym Pembroke Pines’ Father’s Day event from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The celebration kicks off with a doughnut-themed obstacle course and is followed by a doughnut workshop where dads and kids can make a masterpiece out of sprinkles and icing. Admission is $19 per child and includes all materials.

Botanical Kokedama Class

If you’re looking to liven up your office space or living room, this Saturday workshop at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar has got just the thing. From 2 to 4 p.m., attendees will be guided through making their own kokedama — a moss ball plant arrangement — by florists from Blossom Planners. No prior experience or green thumb is required, but spots are limited. Admission is $60.54 and includes all materials.

Unearth A Story: Jurassic World

Got a little one obsessed with dinosaurs? The South Regional/Broward College Library hosts a showing of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Kids are welcome to bring a pillow and blanket to lay on the floor, and free popcorn will be provided. Admission is free with registration.

Unearth A Story: Creative Writing Workshop Series

Seasoned and amateur writers are invited to hone their craft at this creative workshop hosted by the South Regional/Broward College Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Bestselling author and screenwriter Philip McCall II, also known as Cathalson, will teach attendees how to convert their story ideas into publishable works. A second workshop on June 27 will delve deeper into character and world-building. Admission is free with registration.

Let’s Dance the Tango

Add movement to your weekend with this Saturday afternoon dance class hosted at the Southwest Regional Library. From 2 to 3 p.m., coach and dance studio owner Danny Moves will go through the basics of the tango, an Argentinian partner dance. The class is open to participants of all skill levels and promises to “keep you physically active, reduce stress, and boost your overall mood.” Admission is free with registration.

Charlie Zaa in Concert

Salsa and bolero singer Charlie Zaa takes the stage at the Charles F. Dodge City Center on Saturday as part of his “Nacer De Nuevo” tour. The Colombia performer launched to stardom in the mid-1990s with the release of his debut album “Sentimientos” and has since become famous for his modern takes on traditional Latin American romantic music. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets for the show — which range from $59.20 to $249.95 — can be purchased via Ticketmaster.

Island Space Mango Festival

Mine for South Florida gold at Broward County’s only mango festival at the Charles F. Dodge City Center from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Fruit fans can expect mango varieties from across the globe, tropical fruit tastings, culinary demos, gardening workshops and more at the event, which expects approximately 1,500 attendees and is hosted by the Island Space Museum. Admission packages range from $32.55 to $60.25 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
