Residents looking to reset and unwind this summer can participate in Pembroke Pines’ new yoga series starting in early June.

The city is planning to host weekly yoga classes on Tuesdays from June 2 through July 7 at the Dream Park Community Center, located at 1700 NW 160th Ave. Two beginner-friendly sessions will be led by instructor Michelle Lovet each week.

Lovet is a certified health and physical eduation teacher with over 20 years of experience.

Classes are open to participants ages 16 and older.

The first session begins at 6 p.m. and focuses on an “Intro to Yoga” with chair adapations availiable for those needing extra support or recovering from an injury. The session will focus on gentle strecthing, foundational poses and breathing techniques.

At 7 p.m., participants can take part in “Intro to Yoga: Hatha Flow,” a slower-paced class that connects breath with movement while introducing basic movements that help build strentgh, flexibility and focus.

Registration opens Monday, May 25. Residents pay $15 per class or $55 for a six-week pass. Non-residents can attend for $20 per class or $70 for a full-series pass.

Those interested can register through the city’s recreation portal.
