Boogie on Wheels to make return to Pembroke Pines. Tickets are now on sale
A groovy Pembroke Pines fan favorite is coming back to the city for a second run.
Boogie on Wheels will return to the Charles F. Dodge City Center on Friday, July 24, bringing indoor rollerskating, retro fun and throwback turntable tracks.
The event kicks off with family skating from 5 to 7 p.m., making room for parents with kids learning their way around the rink.
From 8 to 10:30 p.m., a “Friday freestyle” for adults 21 and over will be open to those planning to zip around and show off their favorite moves, skills and tricks.
Soundtracking the night is DJ Sama, who’ll be spinning freestyle hits from the ‘90s. Think favorites from Whitney Houston, NSYNC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Spice Girls and more.
Vintage arcade games, giveaways and contests will also keep the fun going on and off the rink, and free popcorn, a costume contest and a Glow Lounge — present at last year’s inaugural Boogie on Wheels — could make an appearance.
According to the city, tickets are expected to go fast.
Family skating tickets are $21.30 each or $42.80 for a bundle of four via Ticketmaster. Late-night “adults 21 and over” tickets are $27.45.
All skate rentals are included with admission and the rollerskating disco event “always sells out,” the city says.
