Ever wondered what the Pembroke Pines Police Department’s special canine is like off duty?

This week, residents have the opportunity to find out.

The PPPD is hosting a meet-and-greet with department personnel and comfort K-9 Jellybean at Josefina’s Coffee House from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Jellybean, a goldendoodle, has been with the department since October. She was acquired through the First Responders Pack Foundation when she was 10 weeks old.

Jellybean’s primary task is to provide emotional support to the community and first responders during times of stress, trauma or crisis.

Josefina’s Coffee House, located at 19481 Sheridan St., is providing complimentary coffee for the event.
