Welcome to the first full week of 2026, Pembroke Pines. Are you ready to kick off the new year?

The city’s got lots planned to get your resolutions in order, whether you’re trying to meet your fitness goals, sharpen your brain or pick up a creative hobby.

This Monday through Thursday, enjoy several runs, a trivia night, a crochet class and a last chance to spot local art.

Let’s Run Pines x LIME

Let’s Run Pines kicks off the first full week of 2026 with a 2-mile trot at 7 p.m. on Monday. Runners of all paces will meet at Pembroke Gardens’ Lime Fresh Mexican Grill and fuel up on the club’s complimentary water and fruit. A post-sweat session social at the restaurant includes exclusive discounts for Let’s Run Pines members. The event is free and open to the public with registration.

Trivia Nation at Throwback Tavern

Like brain games with a competitive edge? Throwback Tavern hosts its weekly trivia night from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The competition will be hosted in teams, and the category is “general knowledge trivia,” meaning anyone from ages 8 to 80 is welcome to play. Get a head start on the winnings — $100 in prizes — by visiting the restaurant’s website for the free answer of the week.

Fall Exhibition Series

Visit The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery’s fall exhibition series for its final week on display. The show — which started Oct. 16 and runs through Saturday — highlights three South Florida artists’ exhibits: “Lo Que Me Habita” (Lisu Vega), “The Silence That Remains” (Sibel Kocabasi) and “Our Loving World” (Stephanie McMillan). All three use “immersive installations and vibrant stroytelling” to explore memory, heritage, and belonging. Admission to the gallery is free and operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New Year Resolution Run

If your 2026 vision board is squared away, head out to Sprint Society’s New Year Resolution Run at 7 p.m. on Wednesday to get a head start on your fitness goals. Runners of all paces are welcome, will meet at 10280 Pines Blvd for the trot and can enjoy a post-run social afterwards. Admission to the run club’s first event of the year is free and open to the public.

Sensory Sprouts Storytime

The South Regional/Broward College Library hosts Sensory Sprouts, a storytime event for neurodivergent childen, from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The hour-long event includes books, songs and sensory play — such as felt, egg shakers and scarves — as part of a “welcoming and inclusive program.” Admission is free with rgeistration.

Chair Yoga

Integrate gentle movement into your routine at the Southwest Regional Library’s Chair Yoga session from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday. This all-ages class will be led by Leigh Ann Russo, a registered yoga teacher and certified holisitic health coach, and aims to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, improve balance and increase strength and flexibility. Admission is free with registration.

Off the Hook

Off the Hook’s knitting and crochet group returns to the Southwest Regional Library noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday. Show off your latest project or pass on stitching techniques at this cozy community event. All supplies and materials will be provided by the Friends of the Library nonprofit. Admission is free, but registration is required to participate.
