The month of love is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean you can’t romanticize that last days of February.
Pembroke Pines has got plenty of weekend fun to spring you into March.

Queen & King Grand Finale at Bahama Breeze
Reggae group Queen & King closes out its nine-year residency at Bahama Breeze, 11000 Pines Blvd., from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday. The band — made up of musicians Prince Patrick, Queen Kelley and Wayne Armond — bid the Caribbean chain farewell following parent company Darden Restaurant’s recent statement announcing that the Pembroke Pines location would close by April 5 after a 30-year run. Guests can expect island-style fare and beat. Admission is free and open to the public.

Rise & Refuel
Kick off your Saturday with an early-morning run followed by an exclusive refuel session. Runners will meet at Pines Protein Bar for a 2- to 4-mile trot that welcomes all paces — jog, stride or sprint. Pines Running Co. members can enjoy 20% off all items at the health food restaurant and mingle with other fitness junkies. Admission is free, but requires registration.

Botanical Bonsai Class
Got a green thumb? Watch it flourish at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar’s bonsai workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Botanical artist Blossom Planners Flowers will lead attendees through shaping and caring for their decorative tree. Newbies and amateur growers are welcome to the class, which promises fun and reconnection with nature. Tickets are $49.87.

Lunar New Year Celebration
Ring in the Year of the Fire Horse at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar’s Lunar New Year celebration from 7 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Asian vendor market will serve up themed dishes at its food stalls, play traditional tunes, put on a Lion Dance performance and hand out lucky red envelopes in the spirit of Chinese New Year. Pines Light Up the Night 5K Run
Neon lights and glow sticks headline this community 5K, held at the West Pines Soccer Park — 350 SW 196th Ave. — at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Runners of all paces are encouraged to sport their brightest colors for the 3.1-mile trek, which benefits the Pembroke Pines Charter Schools Foundation. Tickets — which are $30 through Feb. 27 and $50 on race day — include a light-changing LED glow foam baton and a free beer for those over 21.

Clay Day: Wheel Throwing
Catch the second half of this two-part pottery class from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Studio18 Art Complex. Ceramicist Jose Pita Vazquez first guided attendees through maneuvering the pottery wheel on Feb. 21. This second session covers decorating and glazing your finished piece so you can take your creation home. Tickets are $60 and include all materials needed for the all-ages workshop.
