Glow runs, writing and ‘80s beats: Your guide to Pembroke Pines events this week
After a week of wild weather swings, South Florida can finally take a warm breath — and maybe even step outside without worrying about falling iguanas.
Defrost at these events happening in Pembroke Pines this week.
Here’s what’s happening Monday, Nov. 17, through Friday, Nov. 21:
Writer’s Club
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Pembroke Pines/Walter C. Young Resource Center will host Miramar Branch Library’s writer’s club.
This space is designed for adults to read, listen and discuss the written word. Those interested can register here.

Beats & Bites
This new monthly concert series pairs live music with local eateries.
Held one Thursday evening each month, Beats & Bites is scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday by the outdoor stage at the Charles F. Dodge City Center.
This month’s theme is all about the 1980s. The event will feature JUANABE — which describes itself as South Florida’s ultimate ‘80s cover band — performing the decade’s biggest hits.
This free, family-friendly event is open to the public. The year’s final Beats & Bites concert is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Lululemon Pembroke Gardens
To close off the week strong, Lululemon in Pembroke Gardens at 14564 SW Fifth St., is inviting the community to light up the night for Glow Run/Walk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
After the run, attendees can get an exclusive after-hours first look at their Black Friday collection.
