The 1980s were a time of big hair and even bigger hits.

It was the decade of Madonna’s pop anthems, Bon Jovi’s rock ballads, neon leg warmers and shoulder pads.

Pembroke Pines is bringing back that nostalic flair with Beats & Bites, its new monthly concert series that’s back for its second installment.

Scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center plaza, the event will feature JUANABE — which describes itself as South Florida’s ultimate 80s cover band — performing the decade’s biggest hits.

Hosted by the City of Pembroke Pines, each “Throwback Thursday” concert will celebrate the hits of different decades, performed by local and regional bands.

Guests can also expect a rotating lineup of food trucks and vendors offering bites that match the night’s vibe.

This free, family-friendly event is open to the public. The year’s final Beats & Bites concert is scheduled for Dec. 18.
