Families around Broward County will have their chance to dance through life and spend a day with books, costumes, and storytelling.

The Broward County Library will host its 24th annual StoryBook Festival: Follow the Yellow Brick Road on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Southwest Regional Library, located at 16835 Sheridan St.

The first 1,000 children will receive a free book. Kids are encouraged to come in costume and join the Storybook parade. The event will feature book readings, a costume parade and arts and crafts.

Attendees can also explore Fantasy Forest, where fairy tale characters such as Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood come to life. Fantasy Forest tour tickets are available on-site while supplies last, with morning tours at 10 a.m. and afternoon tours at 12:30 p.m.

The City of Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue will also be in attendance, giving children the opportunity to touch a firetruck from 10 a.m. to noon outside the front of the library.

Registration for the event, scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., is free.
