Local living legend Gloria Estefan, whose 50-year career has paved the way for Spanish-language music in the U.S., lit up NPR’s Tiny Desk earlier in the week.

Her infectious rhythms and ability to bring people together are the perfect inspiration to carry into the weekend.

Pembroke Pines is serving up a lineup of fun, creativity and family-friendly events for Oct. 18-19, from sensory-safe fall festivals to K-Pop-inspired spa nights.

Here’s what’s happening:

Big Smoke ride with South Broward Wheelers

City Bikes of Pembroke Pines is hosting the South Broward Wheelers and the Cycling Family Broward for a Saturday morning cycling session. After the ride, cyclists can fuel up with a Jamacian BBQ grilled by Big Smoke — cash and Zelle accepted.

Riders can choose from four pace groups, ranging from 15 to 21+ mph and covering 25 to 50 miles. Pedals up and helmets on at 7:30 a.m. RSVP at cfbcycling@gmail.com.

Brazil Expo Florida

Bringing the rhythm of Brazilian business and culture to Pembroke Pines this weekend, the Brazil Expo Florida is a two-day corporate event filled with networking opportunities and panel discussions — all in Portuguese.

The event will be held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, and admission and parking are free. Attendees can explore exhibitor booths, score giveaways and join conversations on trade, immigrations and U.S.-Brazil business ties.

The expo runs Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information and to registration, click here.

Nutrition Smart’s Customer Appreciation Day

A local organic grocery and vitamin store, Nutrition Smart is showing appreciation with a full day of activities and 20% off on Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The first 200 shoppers will receive free goodie bags when doors open.

From 10 a.m.-5 p.m., guests can attend five educational presentations covering topics such as cultivating immune health naturally and supporting healthy aging and energy. DJ Antonio Briceño will be spinning throughout the afternoon.

Par for the Paws Charity Golf Classic

The fifth annual Par for the Paws Charity Golf Classic returns to Pembroke Lakes Golf Club on Saturday, supporting local animal rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a welcome barbecue, beverages and live music. The event concludes at around 6 p.m. with the awards banquet, silent audition, raffles and cash bar.

Tickets are running low, with banquet only at ($75) and party animals ($750) options still available.

Proceeds benefit Wonder Paws Rescue and donations are tax-deductible.

Autism-friendly fall festival

Sprout Behavioral Services is hosting a free autism-friendly Fall Festival designed for ages 2-6 on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The event offers a joyful, sensory-safe celebration for young children on the spectrum and their families. There will be trick-or-treating practice, sensory play and hands-on crafts, and activities lef by Sprout’s trained ABA team.

Families can also meet Sprout’s clinicians to learn about early-intervention and preschool-readiness programs.

Registration is required and spots are limited.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ event

Little Princess Spa is hosting a KPop Demon Hunters event on Saturday from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Fans of the animated music fantasy film “KPop Demon Hunters” can enjoy a night of fun while secretly hunting demons. Tickets are $60 and include admission for one child and one adult.

Little demon hunters can get a hairdo and makeup inspired by the film, participate in crafts such as designing a demon hunter bracelet and a surprise project, and sing along to their favorite Demon Hunter K-pop hits.

Families will also have the chance to meet characters from the film, take photos, dance and compete in music battles.
