Need another reason to hit the golf course this fall? Support thousands of South Florida students’ academic journeys while sharpening your putting skills at the Crockett Foundation’s annual fundraiser tournament .

The annual charity tourney — scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Pembroke Lakes Golf Club — is on its fourth edition of gathering community leaders and others for a prize-filled competition that funds the nonprofit’s mission to empower Broward County youth.

Started in 2002 by former NFL players Henri and Zack Crockett, the foundation offers resources such as coding and mixed media classes, counseling, college preparatory courses and scholarships to help students “realize their full potential,” according to its website.

“Every swing and every putt at this tournament directly contributes to creating brighter futures for our youth in Broward County,” CEO and president Henri Crockett said in a statement announcing the event. “We’re excited to welcome participants back for a day of friendly competition that fuels real change.”

The event starts at 7 a.m. with check-in, a welcome breakfast and an exclusive shopping experience with TravisMathew, a California-based golf brand, with a credit for up to three items of merchandise included with your entry fee.

A shotgun start gets the tournament going at 8:30 a.m. and the event wraps up with a luncheon and awards presentation at 1 p.m. Perks such as live cigar-rolling, a live DJ and extra golf activities — a longest-drive competition and a closest-to-the-pin contest — are also included.

Entry fees range from $750 for a single golfer to $2,500 for a foursome and sponsorship packages go from $250 to $10,000. Space is limited — the nonprofit’s website says the event caps out at 100 golfers to keep the tournament moving along — so early registration is encouraged.
