C.B. Smith Park reopened Tuesday after Pembroke Pines police found no suspicious items during a search prompted by an anonymous bomb threat.

Police evacuated the park shortly before 2 p.m. on July 13 and blocked access while officers searched the property “out of an abundance of caution.”

The park search concluded around 3:20 p.m. with no safety concerns identified, cops said.

Officials say preliminary information indicates the “call may be related to a swatting,” the department posted on Instagram.

Swatting involves making a fake emergency report to prompt a large law enforcement response.

The park, located at 900 N. Flamingo Road, remained closed for the rest of the day on Monday before reopening on Tuesday.
