Pembroke Pines police evacuated C.B. Smith Park on Monday afternoon after receiving an anonymous bomb threat, department officials said.

Officers investigating the threat closed access to the park, located at 900 N. Flamingo Road, on July 13 while the investigation continued.

Police announced the bomb threat in an Instagram post at around 1:45 p.m., saying the park would be evacuated in “an abundance of caution.”

The department told the Pembroke Pines News at 3 p.m. that the Broward Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was conducting a search of the park and that “no safety concerns have been located at this time.”

Officials also said the park would remain closed for the rest of the day and was scheduled to reopen on Tuesday.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
