A familiar song or tune has a way of transporting listeners back in time.

To a high school dance, a first kiss or memories tucked away for years.

This month, nostalgia takes center stage in Pembroke Pines as the city continues its “Throwback Thursday” concert series, which celebrates hits from different decades performed by local and regional musicians.

The free event is scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center quad at 601 City Center Way. All ages are welcome.

This month’s installment, themed “High School Reunion Night,” will feature a mix of hits spanning genres and decades, from the 1960s through the 1980s, staff from the Recreation and Cultural Arts department told the Pembroke Pines News.
