Kaluz Restaurant donates portion of sales to student foundation in Pines, Miramar
Kaluz Restaurant in Pembroke Pines has donated a portion of its opening night sales to the South Broward Foundation, a nonprofit meant to support advances in education and professional development.
The restaurant contributed $7,500, a portion from its opening VIP Night sales, to the nonprofit that supports initatives in Pembroke Pines and Miramar.
Kaluz opened its doors on Nov. 18 at 10780 Pines Blvd. and is known for its upscale modern-American cuisine.
Formerly known as the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund, the SBF is the fundraising arm of the chamber.
“We are grateful for the support that strengthens our ability to help more students and schools and expand opportunities where they are needed most,” Patricia Archer, the Executive Director and CEO of the SBF and the chamber, said in a Feb. 23 news release.
The chamber has been operational since 1969 and the foundation was created in 2002.
“From the start, we wanted our opening in Pembroke Pines to support the community that welcomed us,” said David Baldwin, the owner of Kaluz Restaurant. “The South Broward Foundation is doing important work locally, particularly for students and schools, and this was a way for us to support those important efforts.”
