Popular South Florida restaurant Kaluz opens new location in Pembroke Pines
A popular waterside Fort Lauderdale restaurant is now opening a new dining room in Pembroke Pines, offering upscale American fare.
Kaluz Restaurant opens its doors to the city Tuesday, Nov. 18, bringing table service it says is “more than just a meal, it is an experience.”
The Pembroke Pines restaurant — located at 10780 Pines Blvd. — announced its opening in July and marks the chain’s fourth eatery, joining restaurants in Plantation, Wellington and a flagship in Fort Lauderdale that introduced Kaluz to South Florida’s dining scene in 2013.
“Pembroke Pines is such a vibrant, family-friendly community with a growing appetite for great dining,” said David Baldwin, Kaluz’s owner. “We’re excited to bring the Kaluz experience here and become a go-to spot for everything, from family dinners and date nights to business lunches and weekend celebrations.”
On its lunch and dinner menus are elevated American classics, such as the Hatfield Farm Pork Chop, dressed in a cinnamon demi-glace and plated with apple chutney and parmesan mashed potato. Guests can also enjoy a robust seafood inventory — including crab cakes, Chilean seabass and yellowtail snapper — as some of the restaurant’s hallmark offerings.
An extensive wine list, cocktails and mocktails and coffees make up its drinks menu. Sweet standards such as a salted caramel brownie and bread pudding are among desserts the restaurant plans to serve.
Baldwin’s time working at American eateries Houston’s and J. Alexander’s — and a 12-year stint in Buenos Aires overseeing the opening of three Kansas Grill & Bars — was just some of the experience he brought to the table when thinking up Kaluz, the Sun Sentinel reported in 2013.
Kaluz can seat roughly 290 guests between its indoor dining area, bar and outdoor lounge and is open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Only walk-in guests will be accomodated from Nov. 18-20, with regular reservations taking effect its opening wekeend.
Some guidelines to note when dining in, according to the eatery’s website: the maximum party size Kaluz can accomodate is nine and guests should refrain from wearing gym attire, hats, “exposed undergarments or overly provocative clothing,” swimwear, and clothing with offensive images or language.
Gentlemen, Kaluz specifies, should avoid wearing tank tops and sleeveless shirts.
