Two Pembroke Pines grocery stores are giving back this holiday season, one meal at a time.

This November, Sedano’s Supermarkets across South Florida kick off their 2025 Season of Giving, the chain’s annual charity campaign to feed the region’s neediest communities.

As part of the decade-long tradition, Sedano’s is partnering with neighboring food pantries and nonprofits to pledge meals for up to 400 local families.

The Miami-Dade grocer is also inviting customers in on the generosity, offering $10-$20 ready-made bags that customers can purchase and have delivered to their local food pantry.

Donations generated through the supermarket chain’s drive stay within the communities each store serves so that organizations with “deep roots” in participating areas are the main beneficiaries, said Pedro Mesa, Sedano’s director of community affairs.

“The idea started with a simple goal: to help families enjoy the holidays with dignity, good food and a little less financial pressure,” Mesa told the Pembroke Pines News on Nov. 14. “What began as a small, local effort has grown into a signature tradition embraced across South and Central Florida.”

For Sedano’s two Pembroke Pines stores — located at 17171 Pines Blvd. and 10333 Pines Blvd. — donations and ready-made bags will be sent to the Miami Gardens Food Pantry.

The families they support will receive meal bundles including a turkey and self-safe items such as rice, canned vegetables, mashed potatoes and beans, Mesa said.

“This is our first year partnering with the Miami Gardens Food Pantry, and we’re proud to support their important work,” he said. “Each holiday season, Sedano’s looks across the communities we serve to identify new organizations we can uplift.”

Looking for some holiday cheer in your grocery bag too? Sedano’s will be handing out $100 gift cards to select customers in the checkout line to make shopping a breeze all season long.

“The idea is simple: brighten someone’s day and help ease the cost of holiday shopping,” Mesa said. “Selections are completely random and handled in-store by management teams. The goal is to keep it spontaneous so customers experience a genuine surprise, something we could all use during the holidays.”
