Pickleball, a senior social, English classes and a free cup of coffee on the Pembroke Pines Police Department headline the city’s events for the final days of September and the start of October.

Whether you’re celebrating another workweek survived or looking to add some hobbies to your schedule, there are plenty of places to visit, people to meet and fun to be had.

Here are a few weekday Pembroke Pines events to check out.

Story Time Fun

Take your tots to South Regional/Broward College Library on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for an afternoon filled with bookish adventures. From 3-3:30 p.m., kids age 3 to 6 years old are invited to stories, songs and fun. Parents accompanying their children do not have to register, but each kid must be signed up. Admission is free with registration and open to the public.

Bingomania with Suzy

Locals of all ages can join Southwest Focal Point Community Center’s monthly bingo bash Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 2:30-4 p.m. The center’s members are encouraged to bring along guests to its Main Hall, where the gaming fun will be held. Admission is $12 per packet, which includes seven games.

Beginner & Intermediate English Cafe

Looking to spruce up your English speaking skills? Head to South Regional/Broward College Library on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for Beginner English Cafe and Wednesday, Oct. 1, for Intermediate English Cafe from 6-7 p.m. Those starting out will focus on vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, while the intermediate group hones in on listening, speaking and reading skills. Admission is free with registration and open to the public.

National Coffee with a Cop Day

Get your caffeine fix with the Pembroke Pines Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Starbucks, 2000 N. Flamingo Road, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Officers are inviting community members to a free cup of coffee from the Seattle-based chain and good conversation to facilitate police-resident relationships across the city. Admission is free and open to the public.

Senior Social Meetup

Those young at heart are invited to make lifelong friends at Southwest Focal Point Community Center’s monthly Senior Social Meetup. Connect with new Pembroke Pines seniors Thursday, Oct. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 212. The event will include raffles, gifts and certificates to break the ice and spark conversation. Admission is free.

Pickleball at C.B. Smith Park

If you’re looking for midweek movement, look no further than Pickleball Thursdays at C.B. Smith Park on Oct. 2 from 5-8 p.m. This weekly workout is organized by the Miami Pickle Squad on Heylo, a community platform for arranging events. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to bring their own paddles . Admission is free with registration.

Thursday Night at the Gardens

Head out to Pembroke Gardens’ weekly happy hour Thursday, Oct. 2, from 4-9 p.m. Five eateries — Agave, Level TwentyNine, The Pub, Unit B and RA Sushi — will offer discounts on food and drinks while being serenaded by free live music from restaurant Havana 1957. Admission is free and open to the public.
