The centerpiece of this weekend’s lineup is the city’s annual Independence Day bash, a 250th birthday celebration for the United States that promises fun, food and pyrotechnics.

Ushering in July 4 festivities are several ways to enjoy your time off from work. Those are a community-centered mural exhibition, reality TV and World Cup watch parties and a music-filled night for K-pop fans.

Voices of Our Neighborhoods

Get to know Broward County at this mobile public art project stopping at the Southwest Regional Library on Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Artist Gabriela Gamperl combines large-scale visual art with community-sourced audio clips to highlight the diverse stories of Broward residents. Featured are earthy tones and bright blue hues, an outlined county map detailing Broward’s districts and cities, and 15 local stories in the form of memories, poems, songs and spoken word alongside a painted wooden cutout of the storyteller’s home and a portrait.

Love Island watch parties

Stay up to date on your favorite bombshells Friday and Sunday at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar. The Asian vendor market will host nightly “Love Island USA” watch parties at 9 p.m. — except for Wednesdays and Saturdays — through the end of the series’ eighth season. What to expect? Drinks and fare from a Pan-Asian menu with a side of drama, romance and surprises. Admission is free with registration.

Kiwis Kawaii Sari Sari Store invites fans of Korean bands ATEEZ and XLOV to celebrate their music at a “cupsleeve event” hosted by Boashi Food Hall + Bar on Friday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. All attendees can collect a cupsleeve featuring the band members’ image with the purchase of food or beverage, as well as enjoy a local vendors’ mart, raffles, photo opportunities and photocard trading. World Cup watch parties at Baoshi

Watch the beautiful game at one of Baoshi Food Hall + Bar’s several World Cup watch parties Friday from 2 to 9 :30 p.m. The lineup? Australia vs. Egypt at 2 p.m., Argentina vs. Cape Verde at 6 p.m. and Colombia vs. Ghana at 9:30 p.m. Game day specials include $1 wings during each match and free shots when your team scores, according to Baoshi’s team.

July 4 celebration

Ring in the United States’ 250th birthday this Saturday at Pembroke Pines’ annual July 4 celebration. Held at the Pines Recreation Center, attendees can enjoy Colonial-themed decor and activities, red-white-and-blue amusement rides, pie-eating contests, patriotic freebies, food trucks and live music from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by a dazzling fireworks show as the grand finale. Admission is free and open to the public.
