Midsummer is approaching, and with it, several ways to beat the heat and maximize your free time in Pembroke Pines.

This week, the southwest Broward city’s got several options to celebrate the calendar turning to July.

On the lineup are a community kickball game, card trading night, date night and mingle events, line dancing and more.

World Cup Trivia

Score more than just a goal at The Pub’s World Cup trivia night from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday. Teams will be tested on their knowledge of the tournament, covering everything from historic legends to the 2026 games. The watering hole promises winners “top-tier” prizes and will be serving traditional British fare all night long.

Ageless Grace

Ease your way into the week with this free fitness and wellness class at the Southwest Regional Library from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday. Certified instructor Eleanor Robinson will lead a program of simple exercise tools based on everyday movements to “focus on the health longevity of the mind and body.” All are welcome, regardless of age.

Sensory Sprouts

The South Regional/Broward College Library hosts Sensory Sprouts, a storytime event for neurodivergent children, from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The event includes books, songs and sensory play — such as felt, egg shakers and scarves — as part of a “welcoming and inclusive program.” The event is free with registration.

Youth Kickball Game

Looking to make new friends or pick up a new hobby? Do both at the South Florida Wellness Network’s free youth kickball game Tuesday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Pasadena Park. The event is open to players ages 14 to 29, and participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. Call 954-533-0585 to RSVP.

Pokémon Trade Night

Catch ‘em all Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m at Token Forge’s Pokémon trade night. The collectibles store encourages players to bring their binders, favorite pulls and best trades if looking to complete a collection, connect with fans of the trading card game and enter one of three free raffles to win prizes. Raffle drawings will take place at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., and those feeling lucky can purchase additional tickets for $5.

Date Night at Hawaii Fluid Art

Spice up your workweek with a romantic art workshop from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaii Fluid Art. The painting studio will teach couples how to do “acrylic pouring,” an abstract style that uses free-flowing, liquid paint to create unpredictable designs on a 12x12 canvas. Also included with admission are snacks and wine or beer to “sip while you swirl.” Tickets are $97.31 per couple for those 18 years or older.

Mingle Run

If you’re looking to mix flirting with fitness, you’ll want to lace your shoes up for Sprint Society’s 1- to 3-mile run on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The wellness social club will meet at 10280 Pines Blvd., welcomes runners of all paces and offers games and food as part of its post-run hangout. If you’re single and looking to mingle, Sprint Society says to wear all black. In a relationship or just looking to get your miles in? Wear any other color.

Line Dancing at Boneyard Pizza Co.

Head to BoneYard Pizza Co. on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. to wind down your workweek with a line dancing night. The event kicks off with a one-hour lesson on a western-themed dance floor for those new to the “do-si-do.” Admission is $10, but includes either a food and drink credit or an arcade game card for the same amount.

Off the Hook

Off the Hook’s knitting and crochet group returns to the Southwest Regional Library from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday. Show off your latest project or pass on stitching techniques at this cozy community event. All supplies and materials will be provided by the Friends of the Library nonprofit.
