Pembroke Pines — it’s time for your weekly round up of events to stack your weekend with rest, relaxation and more than enough recreation.

But before you double-book yourself, don’t forget Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10. Check out our list of events if you’re still brainstorming plans.

Also slated for this weekend are a community run, live classic rock performances and a chance to go head-to-head in a strategy game against an elected official.

Mom & Daughter Mat Pilates

Break a sweat ahead of Mother’s Day with this mom and daughter workout at Bloom Pilates on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The focus of the class will be stretching and strengthening, and participants of all levels are encouraged to join. Exercise mats will be provided, and pastel-colored activewear is recommended. Tickets are $60 and include admission of one mom and one guest. Any kids attending must be at least 10 years old.

National Mini Golf Day

Monster Mini Golf invites those both young and young at heart to enjoy all-day youth pricing in honor of National Mini Golf Day on Saturday. From noon to 11 p.m., guests will only have to pay $13 for each round they play. Also at the glow-in-the-dark course are an action climbing tower, duck pin bowling, arcade games and live DJ performances.

Mayor’s Chess Challenge

Show up Mayor Angelo Castillo in this Broward chess game series making its stop in Pembroke Pines at Pembroke Lakes Golf Club 19 on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. A raffle for a spot to duel Castillo takes place at 9:30, 10 and 10:30 a.m., and three placements — beginner, intermediate and advanced — are available for general play. A rookie “no stress chess” section will also be open to those who have never played before or are watching the tournament from the sidelines.
