New week, new reasons to celebrate.

Between weekday slumps, Pembroke Pines residents can find midweek respites that don’t have to wait for the weekend.

St. Patrick’s Day, the annual religious and cultural holiday that commemorates Ireland’s patron saint and synonymously elevates Guinness stock, is Tuesday. And you know celebrations will be plentiful.

In addition to St. Patrick’s Day events, this week’s roundup includes live music and theater.

St. Patrick’s Day Play Group

Bloom Pediatric Play Group is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day-themed play session for children up to 4 years old, plus a parent workshop, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Bloom Pediatric Play Group was created by two moms who are pediatricians and full-time urgent care physicians with the mission to create “a space where families could slow down.”

The event will take place at Spring Valley Park, located at 1357 NW 163rd Ave., and is designed to create a playful, sensory-focused experince for kids while giving parents a space to connect.

Cost is $25 per child and advance registration is required.

“We believe play is powerful, parents deserve trusted information, and no one should have to navigate early childhood alone,” the group’s website reads.

St. Patty’s Cosplay Party

Baoshi Food Hall + Bar is keeping the holiday festivities going with a St. Patty’s Day cosplay party, inviting guests to dress up in their favorite costumes or lucky green gear.

The event, also on Tuesday, runs from 7 to 11 p.m. and will feature crafts, games, cosplay contests and green martinis.

Registration is free.

Beats and Bites

The city is hosting its monthly “Beats & Bites” Throwback Thursday concert series on March 19 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way.

From 6 to 9 p.m., music and local eateries take over the main quad for this free event.

Headlining this month’s Beats & Bites is DJ Sama, also known as Felix Sama, who specializes in freestyle, Latin, EDM, hip-hop and RnB music styles.

The concert series celebrates hits of different decades, performed by local and regional bands.

Food trucks will begin serving at 6 p.m. and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The event is open to all ages and registration is not required.

Broadway Bound

The Pembroke Pines Theatre for the Performing Arts starts its spring prodcution of “Broadway Bound” by Neil Simon on Friday.

The show runs through Sunday, March 29, at the Susan B. Katz Theater of the Performing Arts, with the opening Friday performance beginning at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $30 for students and seniors. The show’s run time is about two and a half hours. Set in 1949 New York City, the comedy-drama follows brothers Eugene and Stanley Jerome as they try to break into comedy writing while coping with family drama at home.

Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society has partnered with the cities of Pembroke Pines and Miramar for the 28th Annual Relay for Life Event on Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight.

The free event will take place at Pembroke Pines Charter High School’s athletic field, located at 17189 Sheridan St.

Starting at 5 p.m., a Survivor Dinner will kick off the relay and is open to registered survivors and caregivers. The opening ceremony follows at 6 p.m. with performances, donor check presentations and a medaling ceremony.

A “first lap” is scheduled for 7 p.m. and invites all those who “ever fought or know someone who fought cancer” to walk the track in solidarity and cheer for those survivors in attendance.

After the first shoes hit the pavement, there will be a two-hour Torches of Hope and Luminaria Ceremony. During the ceremony, homemade paper lanterns will be lit and a moment of silence observed for loved ones who lost their life to cancer.

ParTee at Night

The city will host a free, adults-only night for golfers at the Pembroke Lakes Golf and Racquet Club on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The ParTee event, located at 10500 Taft St., is designed for those 21 and older, and will feature alcoholic beverages available for purchase at the club’s bar and food trucks on site for any appetite worked up during the competition.
