This weekend in Pembroke Pines: Family-centered events, live music & more
This weekend is shaping up to be clear with sunny skies, according to the ever-changing weather report.
This week, Miami celebrated “305 Day” and gave South Floridians a reason to remember what makes their vibrant home so special.
As neighbors, Pembroke Pines will celebrate the weekend in its own way with family-focused events for all ages.
Here’s what’s happening around your city from Friday, March 5, through Sunday, March 7:
Silver Spine show
For fans of classic rock covers, Silver Spine is ready to take you on a nostalgia-fueled ride.
The band, hailing from South Florida, will perform hits from the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s at JP Mulligans Restaurant & Pub on Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight.
The restaurant is located at 12415 Taft St.
Ready, set, ride
The city is hosting a Family Bike Ride & Bike Rodeo on Saturday at the Southwest Regional Library, located at 16835 Sheridan St. The course is a one-third-mile park loop.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the event promises food trucks, giveaways and a DJ spinning tracks. The event is free and open to the public with no registration required.
To participate, all children must have bike helmets. Learn more about the event here.
Family day at The Frank
On the first Saturday of each month, The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery, located at 601 City Center Way, invites families to a morning of stories, art-making and gallery exploring.
The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. and is free for all ages.
Starting at 11:15 a.m., families can enjoy a reading of “The Watcher: Jane Goodall’s Life with the Chimps,” by Jeanette Winter, followed by a self-led art activity inspired by the book.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the gallery’s current exhibition and participate in a scavenger hunt. Tickets can be secured here.
