Tricks, treats and local eats: Your guide to the week ahead in Pembroke Pines
With only a few days left before the long-awaited Halloween night, the Pembroke Pines air is thick with candy cravings, eerie decorations and last-minute costume runs.
What began centuries ago as All Hallows’ Eve, a night dedicated to ward off wandering spirits, has evolved into one of the most spirited celebrations of the year.
Whether you’re a thrill chaser, dressing up as your alter ego or simply in it for the sweet treats, there’s plenty happening around town this week.
For those who aren’t into Halloween, there are options for you, too.
Here’s what’s happening Oct. 27-31 around Pembroke Pines:
Monday
Set the Pace with Lululemon and Miramar Run Club
Before the sugar rush hits, Lululemon and Miramar Run Club are teaming up for a Monday night run. All paces welcome — walk, jog or run — and enjoy light postrun refreshments.
Runners will meet at 6:45 p.m. at the Lululemon in Pembroke Pines with sneakers hitting the pavement at 7 p.m. For tickets and more information, click here.
Toastmasters storytelling speech-a-thon
The local chapter of Toastmasters International is hosting a spooky-themed storytelling night, where participants are encouraged to wear their favorite costume and share a two to three minute story about it.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at 2000 NW 150th Ave., Suite 1100, Pembroke Pines.
Tuesday
Spooky Carnival
South Regional/Broward College Library is hosting a Spooky Carnival for children ages 3-8. From 6 to 7:15 p.m., kids are invited to play games, collect sweet treats and enjoy an evening of Halloween magic.
Legislative town hall meeting
The City of Pembroke Pines is hosting a Legislative town hall meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, giving residents a chance to meet local representatives Robin Bartleman, Michael Gottlieb, Felicia Robinson and Marie Woodson. Representatives will be available to take questions and give updates to the community.
South Florida Jeep Club meet-up
The South Florida Jeep Club is meeting for Taco Tuesday at 7 p.m. at AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Pembroke Pines.
Wednesday
Boo-Ville Pumpkin Palooza
The annual Boo-Ville: Pumpkin Palooza is back from 6 to 9 p.m. Hosted by the City of Pembroke Pines at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, the event is free and exclusive to Pembroke Pines residents, but tickets are required.
The first 1,000 children at Boo-Ville will snag a goody bag stuffed with treats. Roaming “monsters” will be judging costumes and dance moves for prizes. No pets are allowed, and no face covering masks for guests over 12 are permitted.

PembrokeKIDS Trick or Treating
The shops at Pembroke Gardens invites families to their PembrokeKIDS Trick or Treating event, a candy-filled evening for little ghosts or goblins.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble where a spooky story time will sent families up for the candy hunt ritual around the shops.
Tickets are $5 per person and must be purchased in advance. It will also feature a costume contest for the whole family (pets included) at 7 p.m. and participants must register before the event.
Friday
Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine
Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine is ringing in Halloween night with live Cuban music and classic dishes. There will be a prize for the best costume.
Shinya Spooky Anime Night
For Halloween night, Baoshi Food Hall + Bar is transforming into an anime-themed Halloween haven from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The event will feature cosplay, live DJ music, Asian-cuisine, vendors, Pokémon card trading, and a Labubu raffle. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are free.
