Jump scare junkies will want to head to The Pub’s Scary Movie Trivia on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to prove their knowledge on all things horror. The Brit-themed bar will test crowds on a variety of films, from supernatural thrillers to classic slashers, for prizes including house cash and restaurant fare. Admission is free with registration.

Spooky Carnival at South Regional/Broward College Library
Looking for family fun? Kick off Halloween week with this library branch’s Spooky Carnival on Tuesday from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Kids ages 3-8 are invited to play games and collect candy in the building’s Story Room. Admission is free with registration.

Trick-or-treat and story time with Barnes & Noble
This Pembroke Gardens bookstore is offering a three-part evening filled with spooks, sweets and suiting up Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The night starts with a Halloween story time at Barnes & Noble followed by trick-or-treating and a costume contest that welcomes children, families and pets. Only kids are required to have tickets, which go for $5, and all proceeds will be donated to animal rescue Pooches in Pines.
