‘Relief and comfort’: New pet hospital with family-first approach coming to Pines
If a trip to the vet is a stressful situation for you and your furry friend, Pembroke Pines’ newest pet hospital will offer an open-door experience it says will keep your worries at bay.
VEG ER for Pets is scheduled to open its newest Broward location at 10350 Pines Blvd. on Thursday, Aug. 6, merging emergency veterinary care with family-first service during your pet’s tensest moments.
“When a pet parent walks into VEG ER for Pets, they will immediately feel they have finally found a place that will provide their family and pet the best emergency veterinary experience that exists,” Dr. David Bessler, VEG ER for Pets founder and CEO, said in a news release.
“Pet parents will feel a sigh of relief and comfort, as they are greeted with a friendly smile, empathetic attitude, and luxury comforts for them and their pet.”
According to the hospital, what sets VEG ER for Pets apart from traditional vet visits boils down to one difference: transparency.
When pet families call for medical help, the company says they are immediately connected with a licensed veterinarian to get their questions answered.
Hospital walk-ins are also involved every step of the way, with owners allowed to accompany their pet through all stages of treatment — including surgery and overnight stays — instead of being confined to a waiting room.
To facilitate this, VEG ER for Pets has an open floor plan that maximizes freedom of movement for veterinarians, pets and families.
The layout also means staff can start the triage process — assessing vitals and symptoms to determine how critical a pet’s condition is — as soon as patients walk through the door instead of waiting on intake forms to be completed.
“I guess it’s cliché to say it was broken, but it was broken,” Bessler said in a video about how VEG ER for Pets’ got its start in 2014. “I’m a people person, so I was always really aware of what people were experiencing when they came in.”
According to the founder and CEO, who’s been an emergency veterinarian since 2003, conventional pet hospitals often disregard customers’ feelings with long lobby wait times, vague treatment options and surprise fees.
