A Miramar man is behind bars and facing felony charges months after sexually assaulting a teenager at a Pembroke Pines foster facility, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Jamie Zane Goldbourne, 25, met the teen girl he’s accused of abusing on Nov. 10 through mutual friends, leading the two to strike up a text message conversation, his arrest warrant reads.

Two days later, the girl messaged Goldbourne and “asked if they could hang out.” The 25-year-old agreed and picked her up from a Children’s Harbor group home, one of the Pembroke Pines nonprofit’s four facilities that houses abused or neglected teens.

Children’s Harbor has not responded to the Pembroke Pines News’ request for comment as of July 14. Goldbourne’s attorney, Rebecca Coury, also has not responded to the Pembroke Pines News’ request for comment.

According to NBC6, the nonprofit said the girl was 17 years old and that the group home she lived in is “not a lockdown facility, and teens leaving the facility is normal,” the station reported.

Children’s Harbor also vets visitors and requires teens to inform the administration when they are going to leave, and provide information on where they will be and who they will be with, NBC6 reported.

According to the warrant, Goldbourne took the teen to his Miami apartment and the two “engaged in multiple acts of non-consensual sex,” before he drove the girl back to her foster home.

Investigators say the teen reported the assault to the Pembroke Pines Police Department on Nov. 18, the same day police were tipped off by a Children’s Harbor member that Goldbourne was communicating with another teen girl and planning to meet her.

When Goldbourne arrived at the group home later that day, PPPD detectives interviewed him and determined a crime was committed, the warrant says.

Since the alleged assault took place in Miami-Dade, Pines investigators handed over the case to MDSO’s Special Victim’s Bureau, which arrested Goldbourne on July 13, just over eight months after the incident.

Jail records show he was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he remained on a $125,000 bond as of July 14.

He faces two second-degree felony charges for unlawful sexual activity with a minor and one second-degree felony charge for traveling to meet a minor.
