Calling all Goofy Goober’s: Pembroke Pines to host SpongeBob movie screening
Bikini Bottoms’ favorite set of characters will come to life in Pembroke Pines this summer.
As SpongeBob might say: I’m ready!
The city is inviting all animation enthusiasts to “make a splash with the family” at a free Dive-in Movie Night screening of “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.”
The movie will be screened poolside at the Academic Village Pool from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, on July 18. The pool is located inside the Pembroke Pines Charter High School campus at 17191 Sheridan St.
The 2025 film follows SpongeBob, desperate to prove himself as brave and as a “big guy” as he embarks on a journey with the Flying Dutchman, a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate through the underworld.
Light refreshments will be provided. The city said no outside coolers, food or drinks — including Krusty Krab pizza — will be allowed. Floaties are also prohibited.
