One of Broward County’s most sought-after cinnamon roll shops is making a comeback after closing its Miramar location this spring.

Roll & Dough started a monthlong collaboration with Miami-based Tata’s Yogurt Bar on Friday, June 26.

Frozen yogurt will be paired alongside the original cinnamon roll flavor every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until July 26 at Tata’s Yogurt Bar, located at 2992 McFarlane Road in Coconut Grove.

Guests can choose between three exclusive toppings: peach cobbler, chocolate chip cookie dough or honey crunch cornflake cereal.

The collab marks Roll and Dough’s first major public pop-up since closing its Miramar brick-and-mortar location inside Puce Patisserie Bakery in early May.

Founded by college students Julie Pierre and Jovan Mitchell, the bakery built a cult following through sold-out farmers market pop-ups and viral social media videos.

On Instagram, the two carry about 142,000 followers, while on TikTok their count is at about 321,100.

After announcing the temporary closure in May, the couple shifted back to online preorders while working from their apartment.

Pierre said in a June 25 TikTok video that production for a large batch of cinnamon rolls takes between 48 and 72 hours from start to finish.

According to Roll & Dough’s online menu, the “OG” cinnamon roll is described as a Japanese milk bun-inspired roll with a cardamom and cinnamon sugar filling topped with vanilla buttercream frosting.

The other collaborator, Tata’s, opened its Coconut Grove store in February. The health-focused yogurt shop serves a homemade Greek frozen yogurt base sweetened with honey instead of refined sugar.

Founder Rafaella Pastor Ferrari named the business after her late grandfather.

Before opening its Miramar location, Roll & Dough operated primarily as a pop-up at local markets, most notably at the Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables, where it regularly sold out.

The couple also continues to work at the Matheson Hammock Park & Marina Farmers Market on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
