The frontier of technology continues to expand into education, including in Broward County, as more schools begin to integrate the latest tools into the classrooms.

The city of Pembroke Pines will highlight that effort with a special presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6, at the Susan B. Katz Theater of the Performing Arts.

The presentation, “Raising Positive Children: Building Strong Digital Citizens in a Connected World,” will feature author and educator George Couros as the guest speaker.

Couros has written six books focused on education, including “The Innovator’s Mindset” and “Innovate Inside the Box.” He is also a co-owner of IMPress Books, an independent publishing house.

“As part of his presentation, Couros will speak on the topic that technology isn’t just something children consume, but rather it’s a space where they can create, connect and make a difference,” the city’s preview of the event reads.

Admission to the event is free and tickets are not required.
