Woman ‘seriously injured’ in Pembroke Pines two-vehicle crash, cops say
A nighttime two-vehicle crash in Pembroke Pines left a woman hospitalized, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department.
Officers responding to the 7500 block of Pembroke Road at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, found a Toyota Corolla and Ford F-150 had collided, PPPD spokesperson Amanda Conwell told the Pembroke Pines News on March 23.
According to Conwell, the Corolla’s driver lost control of her car while traveling eastbound on Pembroke Road, went over the median and hit the truck, which was headed westbound on the busy roadway.
The Corolla driver was “seriously injured” in the collision and taken to a hospital, where she was being treated, Conwell added.
Authorities did not provide identifying information on the Ford’s driver.
An investigation is still underway, but police say “initial evidence does not suggest that there was impairment of any kind, like drugs or alcohol.”
Speed may have played a factor, Conwell said.
