Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Pembroke Pines. Your city’s got several high-spirited shenanigans in store to celebrate.

The luck-themed holiday is the namesake of Ireland’s patron saint and celebrates the fifth century introduction of Christianity through the Roman British missionary.

In the Emerald Isle, St. Patrick’s Day is observed with multi-day festivals in big cities, the “greening” of national landmarks and a morning Mass.

In Pembroke Pines, we’re welcoming luck with crafts, cosplay, corned beef and cabbage, and a crisp pint of Guinness.

Check out these St. Patrick’s Day events scheduled for Tuesday, March 17:

St. Patrick’s Day Play Group

Bloom Play and Grow kicks off St. Patrick’s Day with a 10 a.m. play session and parent workshop. Families with children ages newborn to 4 will meet at Spring Valley Park — 1357 NW 163rd Ave. — and enjoy sensory bin play, music and dancing, bubbles and iced matcha lattes included with admission. Space is limited and tickets are $25. A discount (SIBS20) for those bringing several of their kids is available at checkout.

St. Patrick’s Day Play Date

An evening crafts party headlines this Pembroke Pines Mommy Club event from 5 to 7 p.m. Kids can enjoy playtime and a luck-themed hands-on activity while parents connect with one another. Kids are encouraged to wear green. Admission is free with RSVP and the event’s address is provided upon registering.

St. Patty’s Cosplay Party

Stave off a pinch and welcome a kiss at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar’s cosplay party from 7 to 11 p.m. Attendees are invited to dress up as their favorite Irish legend or don green gear for prizes and enjoy arts and crafts, games, green martinis and the hall’s pan-Asian cuisine. Admission is free with registration for the all-ages event.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at The Pub

Immerse yourself in The Pub’s “proper shenanigans” all day — 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. — at the Pembroke Gardens watering hole, located at 237 SW 145th Terrace. Customers can expect live DJ performances after 2 p.m. as well as drink specials including Guinness, Jameson and a “lucky green cocktail.” A limited menu of Irish fare will include traditional dishes such as corned beef and cabbage and Guinness stew. Admission is free and open to the public.

St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance

The Southwest Focal Pointe Senior Center — 301 NW 103rd Ave — hosts a themed dinner dance at 5:30 p.m. Included with admission is a traditional Irish mean, either corned beef and cabbage or Shepherd’s pie catered by JT’s Sports Bar & Grill. The dance floor opens at 6:30 p.m. and attendees can participate in a costume contest to win prizes. Tickets are $25 and must be paid in cash.

St. Patrick’s Day at Agave Bandido

Pembroke Gardens’ Agave Bandido headlines its St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with discounts from open to close, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., that’ll leave you feeling lucky. The Mexican eatery will serve green margarita and green beers and keep its Taco Tuesday special — 50% off the dish — going all day. Admission is free and open to the public.
