Sidewalk repairs to close Pines roads through December. Here’s what we know
Roadway construction — and closures — will soon come to east Pembroke Pines, according to county officials.
Maintenance repairs on sidewalks and ADA-accessible pedestrian curb ramps will shut down lanes along Douglas Road starting Tuesday, Feb. 24, through December, Broward’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division announced in a Feb. 17 statement.
Construction will take place between the intersections of Pines Boulevard and Taft Street, the department said, with a single lane both northbound and southbound open for traffic, causing “minimal disruption to the traveling public.”
Driveway and sidewalk access will be available throughout the project’s duration, HBMD added.
Unforeseen conditions or weather delays could hold up the project’s completion date, warn officials. Road improvements are funded through the county’s 6-cent local option gas tax levied for transportation projects through 2047.
“Broward County appreciates your patience as we complete this necessary roadway maintenance project,” HBMD said.
