Bomb threat investigation at Somerset Academy North in Pembroke Pines

The Pembroke Pines Police Department is investigating a bomb threat reported Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Somerset Academy North, prompting an evacuation and early dismissal, authorities said.

Police said a suspicious call was received on the department’s non-emergency line involving a bomb threat at the school, located at 20803 Johnson St., according to a post shared on the department’s Instagram account.

School dismissal was underway at the time, but anyone remaining on campus was evacuated as a precaution while police conducted a search of the school.

The students remaining on campus were being moved to West Broward High School or Rose Price Park for pick-up.
