A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy suffered minor injuries on Wednesday, Jan. 14, after being dragged by a vehicle in Pembroke Pines, according to BSO officials.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., the civil division deputy was seizing a vehicle in the 18000 block of SW Third Street in Pembroke Pines.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle drove off and dragged the deputy a short distance before crashing.

The Pembroke Pines Police Department assisted the BSO with an investigation.

The driver, identified as Charles Moye, 67, was arrested for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, officials said.

The deputy was treated at a hospital and released.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
