Broward’s graduation rate surges to historic high. How the numbers break down
More Broward County Public Schools students are graduating high school than ever before, according to a report from Florida’s Department of Education.
BCPS announced on Jan. 13 that graduation rates reached a historic high at 91.4% in 2025, up about 2.4% from the previous year. The rate increase is in step with Florida’s highest-ever statewide rate of 92.2%.
The Florida Department of Education released the state’s graduation rates for the 2024-25 school year, which includes traditional high schools, centers and charter schools.
The graduation rate for BCPS excludes centers and charter schools.
All 36 of the district’s traditional high schools achieved a graduation rate of 90% or higher and 31 of them reached a graduation rate at or above 95%.
The graduation rate for English Language Learners saw an increase of 5.3 percentage points to 84.6%.
Seven district high schools achieved 100% graduation rates:
- Atlantic Technical High School
- College Academy at Broward College
- Lauderhill 6–12 STEM-MED
- McFatter Technical High School
- Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy
- Pompano Beach High School
- Sheridan Technical High School
College Academy at Broward College achieved a graduation rate of 100% for the 14th consecutive year.
“We are extremely proud of these historic results,” Superintendent Howard Hepburn said in a news release. “... Our students are rising to the challenge, our educators are giving their all, and our families and community partners are supporting our students every step of the way.”
