Is Pembroke Pines a top place to live in Florida? What new rankings say
How does Pembroke Pines match up against other Florida cities in regards to the best places to live in the Sunshine State?
U.S. News & World Report has an answer.
The news, rankings and analysis source takes five core metrics into account when ranking cities. Consumers frequently use the publication to help decide where they might want to move to. The site is also known for its college and hospital listings.
Experts used those five metrics to calculate the scores for 81 cities across Florida.
Parkland, located in northwest Broward, placed first in the state with 6.4 points out of 10.
Pembroke Pines ranked 35th with 5.6 points, ranking below neighboring Miramar by a fraction of a point.
What’s behind this score? The informational page that is available about Pembroke Pines states that the city “offers a lower value than similarly sized cities when you compare housing costs to median household income,” as well as a longer-than-average commute.
However, the city did earn points for having a healthier-than-average job market, with a higher median household income and lower unemployment than comparable metro areas.
