Pedestrian hospitalized, roads closed after crash, Pembroke Pines police say
A Pembroke Pines car crash Wednesday, Dec. 17, landed a pedestrian in a hospital, according to the Hollywood Police Department.
Officers responded to the collision at Taft Street and NW 76th Avenue — near the Walnut Creek residential community — around 9:55 a.m., agency spokesperson Officer Christian Lata told the Pembroke Pines News.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital after the accident and their condition was unknown, according to HPD.
“The driver of the other vehicle is being cooperative at this time, and they’re investigating to see what happened,” Lata said.
Details including the driver’s identity, who the vehicle struck or what caused the crash were not released by police.
The collision led to morning road closures on the east and westbound lanes of Taft Street near Northwest 76th Avenue and along Northwest 77th Way by Hollywood police and the Pembroke Pines Police Department, which assisted with traffic.
Shoes strewn across the asphalt, blood on the roadway and a stopped pickup truck and Tesla were spotted moments after the crash, WPLG Local 10 reported.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
