A Hollywood man is behind bars after Pembroke Pines police say he assaulted and launched a tray at a Dunkin’ Donuts employee because another worker was taking too long to serve him.

Officers arrived at the fast-food eatery — located at 9121 Pembroke Road — on Nov. 24 shortly after 5 p.m. to find the woman sustained a “minor cut on her chin and slight stomach pain” from 36-year-old Timothy Louis, reads an arrest report released by PPPD on Nov. 25.

She was exiting the bathroom when she spotted the Hollywood man, who hails from Jamaica, arguing with another Dunkin’ Donuts employee “over the length of time that was being taken to prepare his food” before she briefly reentered the restroom to wait out the spat, said PPPD.

The other employee was unfamiliar with how to make Louis’ sandwich or process a refund he later requested, the woman told officers, and asked he wait for her coworker to return and assist him, according to the report.

After leaving the bathroom, police said, the woman found Louis behind the employee counter on the phone with 911 and threatening to steal a tray of donuts if he wasn’t reimbursed, and she began recording him.

He threw the tray at her and kicked her in the stomach, causing her to fall, then drove off in a gray Honda Pilot when he saw he was being videoed, according to the report.

Louis was cuffed shortly after by Miramar police, who conducted a traffic stop on him less than a half-mile away from the Dunkin’ Donuts, said PPPD.

The 36-year-old was booked at Broward Main Jail but appears to have since bonded out. Police say he faces a misdemeanor battery charge.
