A man suspected of killing one and injuring another during a shooting outside a Pembroke Pines restaurant has been arrested and charged after an hours-long search, according to police.

Officers responded to Rickey’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 8389 Pines Blvd., around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire, the Pembroke Pines Police Department said in a statement. Police said they found two men with “multiple gunshot wounds” in the restaurant’s parking lot when they arrived.

Both men were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, where one victim died despite “all lifesaving efforts,” the statement said. The second victim continues to receive medical attention and is in stable condition, police said.

Pembroke Pines police suspect Clayton Hicks, 27, of pulling the trigger and arrested him Sunday night in Miami with the help of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, PPPD said in an Oct. 20 statement.

The shooting marks the second time Rickey’s Sports Bar & Grill’s parking lot has seen bullets fired this year.

An April 12 shooting outside the restaurant left one man dead, with investigators saying the incident did “not appear to be a random act of violence.”

PPPD did not confirm if Hicks and the two men he shot knew each other or if the incident has a connection to the April shooting.

The 27-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder with a firearm and is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to jail records. His bond information wasn’t posted.
