Calling all Pembroke Pines foodies — a new Caribbean-fusion restaurant is in town.

Lume Bistro & Lounge, located at 12389 Pembroke Road, is the city’s newest table service eatery and brings with it a flavor-packed menu that tastes like “the heart and soul of Jamaica.”

A soft opening was announced on Lume’s social media accounts on Saturday, Nov. 8, inviting customers to register for a limited preview of its menu offerings.

The restaurant’s grand opening is slated for Friday, Nov. 14, and will celebrate its full menu launch with a ribbon cutting ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon.

What’s on the list of “bold island flavors” Lume Bistro & Lounge plans to serve?

A brunch and dinner menu includes dishes such as smoky yard jerk pork, oxtail pasta, Caribbean curry chickpeas and Jamaican national dish Ackee and saltfish.

Among the tropical cocktails it plans on pouring are the Blue Flamingo, Coconut Monkey Shoulder and Purple Rain.

Owner and award-winning head chef Krystal Powell chose to open Lume after a career running food trucks in the Pembroke Pines area, she told Business Debut in March.

The restaurateur is the founder of vendor market Popup SoFLo, offers catering services and has cooked for celebrities such as DJ Khaled and Wyclef Jean.

Powell also teased to Business Debut that a hookah bar, events and nightly DJ performances will be part of the restaurant’s offerings.

Lume Bistro & Lounge will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., Saturday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
