Pembroke Pines — this week could shape what the next four years of living in your city look like.

Your weekday guide kicks off with the city’s March 10 municipal elections, where two commission seats overseeing southwest and southeast Pembroke Pines, respectively, will be up for grabs.

Election Day

Exercise your civic duty and hit the polls Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the 2026 Pembroke Pines municipal elections. On the ballot are two commission seats — District 1 and District 4 — and five candidates. Incumbent Tom Good, retired police sergeant James Henry and insurance agent Dennis Hinds are vying for the District 1 seat. Officeholder and Vice Mayor Michael Hernandez and event planner Elizabeth Burns are gunning for the District 4 seat.

Trivia Nation

Feeling up for a brain game? Throwback Tavern hosts its weekly trivia night from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The competition will be hosted in teams and the category is “general knowledge trivia,” meaning anyone from ages 8 to 80 is welcome to play. Get a head start on the winnings — $100 in prizes — by visiting the restaurant’s website for the free answer of the week.

Run into Wellness

For midweek miles, join Pines Running Co. on Wednesday at Cafe of Life — 16024 Pines Blvd. — at 7 p.m. The run club will kick the night off with a 2-mile trot before runners enjoy a post-run hang at the chiropractic office and meet like-minded fitness lovers. All paces are welcome and admission is free with registration.

Origami: Designing Paper Cubes

Kids ages 8 to 12 are welcome to unleash their inner artist at multimedia creative Gary Gore’s workshop series from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The March edition, hosted at Village Community Center, features an origami paper cube craft led by the Studio18 gallery resident who doubles as a musician and DJ. Admission ranges from $10-15 and is open to the public.

Bubble Beach Bash Jeep Night

Ring in spring with Hooters of Pembroke Pines’ bubble and beach-themed Jeep night from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Those with the best decorated Jeeps will win big prizes and all who present their key 15% off food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a raffle basket giveaway. A DJ performance and car accessory vendors also headline the event, and the franchise’s 2026 calendar girl — Selena Sanchez — will be on-site for autographs. Admission is free and open to the public.

Sunset Dash

Sunset hues backdrop this Wednesday evening run hosted by Sprint Society at 7 p.m. Runners of all paces will meet at 10280 Pines Blvd. — the parking lot of Maple Street Biscuit Company — for a several-mile route that will be released to participants the day of the event. Afterwards, the run club will reveal a surprise hangout spot where runners will meet post-run to refuel and refresh with new friends. Admission is free with registration.

Sensory Sprouts

The South Regional/Broward College Library hosts Sensory Sprouts, a storytime event for neurodivergent childen, from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The hour-long event includes books, songs and sensory play — such as felt, egg shakers and scarves — as part of a “welcoming and inclusive program.” Admission is free with registration.

Line Dancing at BoneYard Pizza Co.

Head to BoneYard Pizza Co. on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. to wind down your workweek with a line dancing night. The event kicks off with a one-hour lesson on a western-themed dance floor for those new to the “do-si-do.” Admission is $10, but includes either a food and drink credit or an arcade game card for the same amount.

Off the Hook’s knitting and crochet group returns to the Southwest Regional Library from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday.
