The 1980s gave us bright eyeliner and synth-heavy dance tracks. The 1990s answered with sampling, cynicism and lots of flannel.

Pembroke Pines will revisit both musical decades with a night of free live entertainment as its Beats & Bites concert series returns from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center quad, 601 City Center Way.

Hosted by the City of Pembroke Pines, the “Throwback Thursday” concert series celebrates hits of different decades, performed by local and regional bands.

This month’s installment, themed “Take it Back Thursday,” will feature a mix of ‘80s house and freestyle alongside ‘90s hits reserved for crowd singalongs.

Headlining the evening is DJ Sama, also known as Felix Sama, who specializes in freestyle, Latin, EDM, Hip-Hop and RnB music styles.

Food trucks will begin serving at 6 p.m. and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. No registration is required.

Next month’s Beats & Bites concert is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center.
