The first month of 2026 may be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean the fun is tapering off anytime soon in Pembroke Pines.

This weekend’s roundup of events has something for everyone, regardless of age, expertise or if you consider yourself an early bird or night owl.

‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’

Head out to West Broward High School’s closing night of “The Little Mermaid Jr.” on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Bobcat drama club will bring the Disney classic to life on its auditorium stage, and to support the program, attendees can participate in the club’s face paint fundraiser 30 minutes before curtains go up. Tickets are $5 with student ID, $12 presale and $15 at the door.

Rise and Refuel

Kick off your Saturday with an early-morning run followed by an exclusive refuel session. Runners will meet at Pines Protein Bar for a 2- to 4-mile trot that welcomes all paces — jog, stride or sprint. Pines Running Co. members can enjoy 20% off all items at the health food restaurant and mingle with other fitness junkies. Admission is free, but requires registration.

Sugoi Night

If you’re a lover of Japanese pop culture, you’ll want to head to Baoshi Food Hall + Bar’s Sugoi Night on Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. This 18-and-over event’s got a slammed itinerary, with a Beyblade tournament, anime “Would You Rather,” a cosplay runway show, live-action role play battles and raffle giveaways headlining the fun. Admission is $20 to enter with a raffle entry ranging from $5 for a single ticket to $10 for three tickets

‘Seed: The Untold Story’

The South Regional/Broward College Library hosts a special screneing of this documentary — part of the 2026 EcoShift Film Series — Saturday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The film follows passionate seed keepers in their fight to protect a 12,000-year-old food legacy, threatened by biotech chemical companies’ majority control over seeds. Featured are experts including English primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall and Center for Food Safety founder Andrew Kimbrell. Admission is free and open to the public.

Clay Day: Hand Built Vases & Forms

Hands-on learning sees a creative twist at Studio 18 Art Complex’s ceramics workshop Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Artist Jose Pitz Vazquez will first guide participants through hand-building their own clay vases and forms. A follow-up session will teach attendees how to deocrate and glaze their finished piece. Tickets are $30 for the all-ages event and include materials.

Wellness Sunday x Nike

Break a sweat at this Nike fitness series Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Pembroke Gardens. This week’s edition brings Zumba and line dancing taught by renowned instructor Gabriela Jurado, who boasts over 20,000 followers on Instagram. Attendees can enjoy a shopping spree afterwards, earning a 20% discount at Nike with proof of event admission. Tickets are $5 and flying fast.

Prestige Club Car Show, Art & Jazz Extravaganza

Classic rides and charity will mix at the Charles F. Dodge City Center on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the Prestige Club’s second annual car show. A curated car display — featuring exotics, antiques, supercars and more — live jazz music, art gallery, food trucks and optional Great Gatsby-themed brunch headline the event, whose proceeds benefit underprivileged children. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

Want a piece of the action at Broward County Library? Join the South Regional/Broward College Library branch’s Jigsaw Puzzle Competition Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Participants will compete in teams of 2-4 people to complete a 500-piece puzzle in 2 hours. The winner is the first team to finish the jigsaw or the team with the least amount of loose pieces by the end of the tournament. Admission is free with registration.
