Glow runs, title fights and culture: Your guide to the weekend in Pembroke Pines

Before the turkey gets carved, the pies come out of the oven and the family bicker-fests begin, Pembroke Pines residents can look forward to a weekend packed with glow runs, boxing title fights and community celebrations.

Here’s what’s happening Friday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 23:

Friday

Lululemon Glow Run/Walk

Lululemon in Pembroke Gardens is hosting a glow run/walk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a first look into their Black Friday lineup. Reserve a spot here.

Saturday

Canva Creations

South Regional/Broward College Library will host Canva Creations from 2 to 3 p.m., offering space for participants to create visual designs based on prompts.

To participate, attendees will need a free library card that can be obtained by signing up for a physical card at your location branch or sign up for an online card. Participants will also need to create a free Canva account.

BKB 48: Brawl in the Pines V

The Charles F. Dodge City Center will host BKB 48: Brawl in the Pines V, a series of Bare Knuckle Boxing matchups, headlined by heavyweight champ Gustavo Trujilo vs. Lucas Browne.

The “Night of Four Kings” event starts at 7 p.m. and will also include three other title fights: Barrie Jones vs. Cub Hawkins (light heavyweight), Jarod Grant vs. Jon Barnard (lightweight) and Yordan Fuentes vs. Julian Fernandez (super cruiserweight).

There is no charge for self-parking in the east side lots and valet service is available at $20 per vehicle.

Sunday

Suriname Independence Celebration

The Suriname American Network will celebrate 50 years of the country’s independence with a full day of culture, music and food at C.B. Smith Park.

The event scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free to attend. Guests can expect authentic Surinamese cuisine, a family-friendly atmosphere and limited merch.
