With Halloween rapidly approaching, Pembroke Pines is readying itself to bring fun for the whole family.

Looking to score candy with the kids? Show off your furry friend’s homemade costume? Cosplay your teen’s favorite anime character? This city’s got you covered.

Howl-O-Ween 3K-9 Family Run

Looking to get your steps in with Fido? Participate in the Pembroke Pines YMCA’s 3K-9 walk Saturday, Oct. 25, from 8-10:30 a.m. Once you’ve done your laps, visit the event’s parade, costume contest or photo booth for more fun with your furry friend. All proceeds support the nonprofit’s Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Initiative. Admission is $25 and includes a YMCA-branded bandana for you and your dog.

PembrokeKIDS Learn to Draw Halloween Monsters

All kids are welcome to channel their inner artist at Pembroke Gardens’ drawing workshop Sunday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in collaboration with nonprofit ComicKids and jewelry store Kendra Scott. Children will learn to sketch their Halloween-themed characters, enjoy chicken tenders from Brimstone Woodfire Grill and the first 25 attendees will receive a goodie bag with treats and a voucher for Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Only kids are required to have tickets, which go for $5 each.

Scary Movie Trivia at The Pub

Jump scare junkies will want to head to The Pub’s Scary Movie Trivia on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to prove their knowledge on all things horror. The Brit-themed bar will test crowds on a variety of films, from supernatural thrillers to classic slashers, for prizes including house cash and restaurant fare. Admission is free with registration.

Trick-or-Treat and Story Time With Barnes & Noble

This Pembroke Gardens bookstore is offering a three-part evening filled with spooks, sweets and suiting up Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5:30-8 p.m. The night starts with a Halloween story time at Barnes & Noble followed by trick-or-treating and a costume contest that welcomes children, families and pets. Only kids are required to have tickets, which go for $5, and all proceeds will be donated to animal rescue Pooches in Pines.

Keiser University Scare Fair Campus Preview

Tour Keiser University’s Pembroke Pines campus, located at 1640 SW 145th Ave., and experience a night of thrills at Scare Fair Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. Prospective students can explore the school’s degree programs while their families enjoy the event’s haunted house, trick-or-treat stations, costume contest and free giveaways. Boo-Ville

Pembroke Pines invites its residents to a “frightfully good time” at its Boo-Ville Pumpkin Palooza on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6-9 p.m. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating, costume contests, roaming monsters and a free goody bag for the first 1,000 kids who attend. Held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, the event is only open to locals who can provide proof of residency in Pembroke Pines. Admission is free, but tickets are limited and must be booked in advanced.

Halloween End of Month Party at Crunch Fitness

Ring in the end of spooky season with Crunch Fitness’ Halloween-themed, end-of-month party Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. The gym welcomes everyone, regardless of membership, to enjoy a night of food, fun and fitness at its West Pembroke location, 16024 Pines Blvd. Crunch Perks Partners — including local shops such as Blu Bliss Massage & Spa and Beauty & Inked — will also make an appearance. Admission is free and open to the public.

Shinya Spooky Anime Night

Cosplayers and anime lovers are invited to a night of “fun, food and fandom” at Baoshi Food Hall + Bar on Friday, Oct. 31. Attendees can enjoy Asian-inspired bites from the hall’s five eateries, bar and market, and shop from a “variety of nerdy vendors” invited just for the event. Other perks include a Labubu raffle, Pokémon trading, a live DJ performance and more. Admission is free with registration.
